It was created to celebrate Subaru's 40th anniversary and their third consecutive win in the World Rally Championship. The 22B is based on the Impreza WRX STi, but features several enhancements to make it more powerful and performance-oriented. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter flat-four engine, which produces 276 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission and Subaru's legendary symmetrical all-wheel drive system. In terms of styling, the 22B features a wider body kit with flared wheel arches, a large rear wing, and unique 17-inch gold alloy wheels. It also has a hood scoop and vents for improved cooling. Inside, the 22B has sport seats, a Momo steering wheel, and special 22B badging. Only 400 units of the Subaru Impreza 22B were ever produced, making it a highly sought-after collector's car.
