Certain car manufacturers are forever tied to certain engine types. BMW will always be synonymous with the straight six. Ferrari will always be famous for their V12's. And Audi? Well Audi changed the world of cars forever with their Audi Quattro rally car. This was the car that four wheel drive from the world of off roaders and placed it into what looked like a normal car. What added the finishing touch though was what was under the bonnet. A snorting, snarling turbocharged monster of a five cylinder engine. And it was the five cylinder layout Audi turned to when designing the Audi RS3. They could have boosted the power of the 2.0 from the S3 or perhaps detuned the V6 from the RS4 but they didn't. Audi believed that the only way to do this RS3 justice was to build from scratch an all new five cylinder engine that took inspiration from the iconic rally car of the 80's. This example, an Audi RS3 2.5 TFSI S Tronic quattro 4dr is a second generation model and features the 395 bhp variant of this incredible powerplant. That, combined with the Haldex based Quattro four wheel drive system results in 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds (quicker than a Lamborghini Gallardo and an Aston Martin DBS) and an electronically limited 155mph top speed. Finished in the stunning Mythos Black metallic paint, this RS3 includes dual zone climate control, heated seats, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, DAB radio, cruise control, auto lights, auto wipers and leather upholstery.
